Dr Dekenah began his career with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science before qualifying as a Dental Surgeon in 1981. Early on, he demonstrated a strong academic interest in dentistry and research, receiving the Middleton Shaw Colgate Prize for the best undergraduate research paper at the International Association for Dental Research meeting held in Cape Town.

Over the years, Dr Dekenah has built a distinguished career with a strong focus on continued professional development and collaboration. He has been the convener and chairman of the Steenberg Orthodontic Study Group since 1996 and is a founding member of the Two Oceans Dental Study Group, as well as an active member of the Cape Town Dental Study Group. In 2001, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry Cum Laude from the University of Stellenbosch.

Dr Ivan Jansen qualified as a dentist in 2019 and has gained extensive experience in private practice, including managing his own practice. He is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry at the University of the Western Cape, alongside ongoing postgraduate training in aesthetic dentistry, endodontics and implantology and has a strong interest in aesthetic, restorative and minimally invasive dentistry.

He places strong emphasis on clear communication, patient comfort and long-term planning, taking time to explain options and involve patients in their treatment decisions. His goal is to create natural, functional and lasting results while building trusting, long-term relationships with his patients.

Outside the practice, Ivan tries to live an active lifestyle and enjoys running, golf, being in the gym and values discipline, balance and consistency whether it be in life or in Dentistry.

Dr Bodenstein obtained his BChD in 1988 from Stellenbosch University. He has practised in Claremont for over 37 years and has experience in all areas of dentistry including general restorative dentistry, crown – and bridgework, root canal treatment, implants, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and minor surgery.

His approach has always been to perform slow, gentle dentistry of a high standard to achieve long-lasting results, using the best techniques and materials available. Patient comfort and involvement in treatment decisions are major considerations in his approach to his work. He regularly attends courses and study groups to keep abreast of developments in the world of dentistry.

Time out from the intensity of the job involves gravitating toward the quiet of nature, be that gardening or walking and cycling on the mountain.
